Things to watch (4)
From the version posted Oct 14, 2026.
- Worth checking: Information request only, no contract. The Government will not pay for responses, will not award from this RFI, and has not promised a later solicitation.
- Worth checking: 10-page limit per tier, Word only, one package per tier. Late or off-format responses may not be reviewed, and each tier needs its own package with a one-page technical summary.
- Minor: Industry day postponed. The industry day planned for October 20 to 22, 2026 is postponed until further notice, and the Air Force anticipates holding it November 30 to December 4, 2026. A new date is not confirmed.

- Minor: Rough costs and company details requested. Respondents are asked for ROM cost ranges, development schedules, production lead times, foreign ownership status and past performance, so a small firm needs this data prepared.

Current contractor
No incumbent is named. The RFI says the mission has historically been supported by the BQM-167A subscale target (since 2007) and the QF-16 full-scale target (since 2017), and the Air Force wants lower-cost options.
