Accessibility
Last updated: October 10, 2026
We want everyone who does business with the federal government to be able to use FedReady, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or a phone. We build to WCAG 2.2 level AA. We don't yet meet it everywhere, and this page says where we fall short.
What we do
- A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
- Pages work with a keyboard, with visible focus, and form fields have labels and error messages in text.
- Pages are built to reflow for small screens and for zoom, and the menu scrolls when the screen is short.
- We check text and controls against the AA contrast ratios, and color is not the only way we show a status.
- Tables have header cells, and links that open a new tab say so.
How we check
In October 2026 we reviewed the public pages and the signed-in app by hand against WCAG 2.2 AA, with a keyboard, at high zoom, and on a phone, and we are working through what the review found. It was an internal review, not an audit by an outside firm.
Known gaps
- Search. Parts of the opportunity search page, such as the filter panel on small screens and how each result is announced by a screen reader, are still being improved.
- Videos. Our short videos are hosted on YouTube. Their pages don't yet have written transcripts.
- Guides. Some tables and checklists in the longer guides need clearer labels for screen readers.
- Government documents. Notices, attachments and amendments come from SAM.gov. We show a summary and link to the original, and we can't make the agency's own PDFs and forms accessible.
Conformance report (VPAT)
We haven't published an Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) yet. If your agency needs one to buy FedReady, email us and tell us what you need, so we can prepare it.
Report a problem
If something on FedReady is hard or impossible for you to use, email hello@fedready.us. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and which browser or assistive technology you use. We'll write back, and fix it or tell you what we can do instead. Other ways to reach us are on the contact page.
