The Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District is soliciting construction of a new 1,200-foot lock at Lock and Dam 25 under the Navigation and Ecosystem Sustainability Program (NESP). The work includes the new lock, a 1,200-foot upstream guard wall and a 650-foot downstream guard wall. Most requirements are in attachments, and the plans must be requested by email.
Watch out for
- Very large heavy civil project. A 1,200-foot lock with drilled shafts and guard walls is a major construction job, likely beyond a small business's bonding and equipment capacity unless teamed.
- Plans not posted online. You must email the contract specialist to get the plans and model, so allow time before the deadline.
Attachment 0004 Plans (Volume 1-7) and Attachment 0005 Navisworks Federated Model must be requested via email to Contract Specialist, Whitney Dee at whitney.r.dee@usace.army.mil.
- Key details in attachments. Requirements, site visit and answers to bidder questions are spread across attachments and several amendments, with more amendments expected.
