AI summary Beta
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District plans to buy one fully crewed hydraulic pipeline cutterhead dredge to remove shoal material in the Atchafalaya River Bay, Bar, and Crewboat Cut Channel in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. The project is estimated at $10 million to $25 million and will be full and open competition with bonding required. This is a pre-solicitation notice, and the solicitation is expected to follow.
Watch out for
- Not set aside for small business. The Government decided small businesses are unlikely to have the needed dredge, so you would compete against large dredging firms.
This acquisition will be procured as Full and Open Competition.
- Needs a large dredge plant and crew. You must furnish a complete, crewed dredge with the pumping capacity and size the Government requires, which is major capital equipment.
not a reasonable expectation that two or more responsible small business concerns possess the required dredge plant size, pumping capacity, and operational capability
- Bonding required on a large project. A $10 million to $25 million project with required bonding needs a surety relationship and financial strength.
The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000.
