AI summary Beta
The Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District plans to hire a contractor to dredge shoal material from the Atchafalaya River Bay, Bar, and Crewboat Cut Channel in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, using one fully crewed hydraulic pipeline cutterhead dredge. The work is estimated at $10M to $25M and will be full and open competition. Bonding is required.
Watch out for
- Not set aside for small business. The Corps decided not enough small dredging firms have the equipment, so a small business competes against large dredging companies.
This acquisition will be procured as Full and Open Competition.
- Heavy equipment requirement. You must supply a complete crewed dredge, which is a very large capital investment unless you team with a dredging firm.
furnishing one fully crewed and equipped hydraulic pipeline cutterhead dredge
- Bonding required. Bid and performance bonds on a $10M to $25M job can be hard for a small firm to obtain.
Bonding: Required
