AI summary Beta
The Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District plans to buy one fully crewed hydraulic pipeline cutterhead dredge to remove shoal material from the Atchafalaya River Bay, Bar, and Crewboat Cut Channel in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. This is a presolicitation notice, so the actual solicitation has not been issued yet. It will be full and open competition, not a small business set-aside.
Watch out for
- Not a small business set-aside. The Corps does not expect two or more small businesses to have a big enough dredge, so you would compete against large dredging firms.
there is not a reasonable expectation that two or more responsible small business concerns possess the required dredge plant size
- Owning or controlling a full dredge plant. The work needs a complete crewed pipeline cutterhead dredge, a very large equipment investment that most small businesses do not have.
furnishing one fully crewed and equipped hydraulic pipeline cutterhead dredge
- Bonding required. Bonds on a $10 to $25 million job can be hard for a small business to obtain.
Bonding: Required
- Solicitation and bid date not yet set. The solicitation is only anticipated and the bid opening date will come later, so plan to watch SAM.gov for amendments.
with a bid opening date to be established in a future amendment
