AI summary Beta
The Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District plans to hire one fully crewed hydraulic pipeline cutterhead dredge to remove shoal material in the Atchafalaya River Bay, Bar, and Crewboat Cut Channel in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. Estimated at $10 million to $25 million, it will be full and open competition with bonding required. The solicitation was anticipated on or about 7 April 2026.
Watch out for
- Not set aside for small business. The Corps found too few small firms have a large enough dredge plant, so a small business would compete with larger dredging companies.
there is not a reasonable expectation that two or more responsible small business concerns possess the required dredge plant size
- Need a dredge and crew. You must supply a full pipeline cutterhead dredge with crew, which requires heavy specialized equipment.
- Bonding required. Getting bonds for a $10 to $25 million job takes surety approval and financial strength.
