Things to watch (7)

From the version posted Oct 20, 2026.

SeriousWorth checkingMinor

  • Worth checking: Site visit on December 14, 2026 is the only one offered. The notice says there is one time block, so a business that wants to see the pit and building before pricing the work has to attend then, at its own expense.
  • Worth checking: Two different sign-up timings for the site visit. The notice asks for contact at least a week before the visit but also gives December 10, 2026 at 4 PM as the latest date; ask the POC which applies.
  • Worth checking: Very heavy rigging from a pit, with a floor load limit. Components weigh 337,000 LBS in total and sit in a pit about 34 inches deep, so the job needs heavy rigging equipment and engineering to protect the floor.
Show all 7Show fewer
  • Minor: Component count does not match the table. The performance work statement (PWS) says four (4) major components, but the weight table lists five items, so the scope needs a question to the Government.
  • Minor: Daily hot work permit if cutting on base. Option A cutting needs a daily hot work permit (DAF Form 592) from the Government Representative, and fire extinguishers on site, which can affect the schedule.
  • Minor: Removal plan due after award, work waits for approval. The Draft Technical Removal Plan is due within 14 calendar days after award, and no on-base work may begin until the Contracting Officer approves the final plan in writing.
  • Minor: Base entry documents for the site visit. Visitors must bring identification and vehicle papers and be at the Robins AFB Visitor's Center by 8:00 AM EST on December 14, 2026.

Should you respond?

Usually yes, if you could do this work. The agency is asking who could do it before it writes the solicitation. A short reply (who you are, similar work you've done, how you'd approach it) costs nothing, and enough small businesses replying can get the work set aside for them.
