The details on the testing requirements are located in MIL-PRF-49257
- Limited technical data. The Government has only a limited data package that includes conceptual information, and it releases it conditionally, so building the part may be hard for a new supplier.

- Alternate designs need approval. Any design other than the one in the data package must be approved by the program office first.
Alternate designs must be approved by Product Manager- Soldier Maneuver Sensors (PM-SMS).
- Notice is unclear about its status. The text calls itself an RFP but also says it is not a solicitation and is only an estimate, so confirm the final solicitation terms before pricing.
This is not a solicitation.
- Cost data may be required later. You could be asked for certified cost or pricing data later, which needs accounting records.
Certified cost or pricing data is not required at this time, but could be requited in the future.
