Things to watch

From the version posted Oct 28, 2026.

SeriousWorth checkingMinor

  • Serious: Specific CERCLA and agency experience expected. Firms without past CERCLA work alongside Army BRAC, EPA and California regulators may not look capable.
  • Worth checking: Deep drilling and specialized studies. The work includes wells up to 500 feet deep and specialized PFAS studies, which call for drilling capacity and PFAS experts on staff or as partners.
  • Minor: Market research only. No award comes from this notice; responses decide whether the later buy is set aside for small businesses.

Should you respond?

Usually yes, if you could do this work. The agency is asking who could do it before it writes the solicitation. A short reply (who you are, similar work you've done, how you'd approach it) costs nothing, and enough small businesses replying can get the work set aside for them.
