What Is a PSC Code?
A PSC (product and service code) is a four-character code for what the government is buying, such as S201 for custodial and janitorial services.
PSC code (product and service code) in plain English
NAICS codes describe the seller's industry. PSCs describe the purchase itself, so they're often more specific about the exact product or service.
PSCs are optional in SAM.gov registration, but they're useful for research. Searching past awards by PSC shows which agencies buy exactly what you sell.
The official list is the Product and Service Codes Manual on acquisition.gov.
