AI summary Beta
The USDA Risk Management Agency, working for the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation, wants to add more actuaries and insurance underwriters to its pool of Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs). Those people would independently review crop insurance policies and plans, with work based in Washington, DC. This is a Sources Sought (market research) notice, not a request for offers.
Watch out for
- Expert credentials, not company size, decide fit. Only firms with actuaries or underwriters who meet the long experience or credential tests can respond, so most small businesses without that staff are a poor fit.
- No commitment to buy. This is market research for a BPA pool; the Government may never issue an RFQ or make an award, and you pay your own response costs.
There is no commitment by the Government to issue
- Unreimbursed response costs. The agency will not pay for the information you send in.
USDA will not pay for information
- Unusually far-off response date. The response date is in September 2027, nearly a year after posting, so confirm the date with the contracting officer before planning around it.
