AI summary Beta
The National Park Service Denver Service Center is doing market research (sources sought, not a solicitation) for slope and terrace stabilization work at Vicksburg National Military Park and National Cemetery in Vicksburg, Mississippi. It covers two projects (Stabilize Terraces and Graves, and Stabilize Mint Spring Bayou), with construction magnitude over $15.0M and about 548 calendar days of performance. Large and small businesses are asked to respond; interest will decide whether the later solicitation is set aside for small business.
Things to watch
- Large project; bonding needed. At more than $15.0M with bid, performance and payment bonds expected, a small firm needs strong bonding capacity and similar-size experience.
The construction magnitude is more than $15.0M.
- Sources sought, not a solicitation. No proposals are accepted now; a response only helps the agency plan, and a later solicitation is not guaranteed to be set aside for small business.
This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) for the purpose of conducting market research.
- Sensitive site with limited staging. Work is in a national cemetery and cultural resource that stays open, with limited staging, protective measures and archaeological monitoring, which raises cost and schedule risk.
The Park will remain open during construction, thus contract activities and logistics must be structured
- Specialty geotechnical work. Soldier pile walls, permanent ground anchors and bank stabilization usually require specialty subcontractors or experience.
