Watch out for
- Large bid bond. A bid bond of up to $3,000,000 is a high bar for many small contractors to obtain.
Offerors shall submit with their offer a bid bond of $3,000,000/ 20% of the amount for Davis Bacon Act (DBA) work.
- Minimum guarantee only in base year. Option years carry no guaranteed work, so revenue is not assured.
Only the base period of the contract will offer a minimum guarantee.
- Wide geographic area. Work could be assigned across many states, which may stretch a small firm.
