The Defense Health Agency wants quotes for maintenance and repair of Steris sterilizers and washers at the Ehrling Bergquist Clinic, Offutt AFB, Nebraska. It is a single-award firm-fixed-price contract with one base year, four option years and a possible 6-month extension, set aside for small business. Award is by lowest price technically acceptable.
Watch out for
- Price-only competition. LPTA means the lowest acceptable price wins, so there is little room to win on quality and margins can be thin over 5.5 years.
Evaluation Method: Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA).
- Parts and travel inside fixed rate. All labor, travel and replacement parts are included in one fixed annual price, so unexpected repairs on sterilizers are your cost.
The resulting contract will be an all-inclusive fixed annual rate covering all labor, travel, scheduled PM visits, and replacement parts.
- Funding contingency. Award depends on appropriated funds being available.
Award is contingent upon the Availability of Appropriated Funds
