AI summary Beta
The VA's Network Contract Office 23 plans to award a sole source firm fixed price contract, under the Federal Supply Schedules, to Riverain Technologies for ClearRead software used across the VISN 23 VA healthcare network. This is a notice of intent, not a request for quotes. Other companies may send a capability statement to ask for competition.
Watch out for
- Sole source to the software developer. The VA says only Riverain can provide this, so a small business would need proof it is an authorized reseller to have a chance.
Only one source is capable of providing the supplies and services required at the level of quality required
- Not a request for quotes. Responding only asks the VA to consider competing the work; it does not start a bid.
This is not a request for competitive quotes.
- Inconsistent names in the notice. The notice names Riverain/Riverrain as developer but asks for proof from Simplex Grinnell, so confirm the right rights holder with the contracting officer.
