AI summary Beta
Some details are in the notice's attachments, which this summary didn't read. Check the attachments on SAM.gov.
The Air Force wants a repair contractor to test and fix components of the F-16 Upgraded Central Air Data Computer. Repairs are just-in-time, as needed, and must return items to serviceable condition. The notice does not state a place of performance, contract length or value.
Watch out for
- Source qualification required. A new repair source must complete qualification before award, and award will not wait for it, which is hard for a small business to do in time.
Award of this contract will not be delayed to allow for source qualification or review of a pending Source Approval Request (SAR).
- Specialized equipment and technical data. Test equipment, tooling and technical data may be costly or hard to obtain.
- Tight turnaround on just-in-time repairs. Repairs are as required and must meet contract turnaround times, so you need standing capacity.
These are just-in-time (JIT) repairs and are not scheduled or depot-level overhauls.
