AI summary Beta
DLA Aviation Philadelphia (Navy NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support) is asking companies to show interest in manufacturing 4 sub-assembly panels (NSN 01-388-7478, P/N 626145-2). This is a Sources Sought notice, not a request for proposals. The Government plans to buy from one source or a limited number of sources because it lacks the manufacturing data.
Watch out for
- Likely limited or single source. The Government intends to negotiate with one or a limited number of sources, so a new company has a hard time winning.
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source or a limited number of responsible sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
- Source approval takes time and will not delay award. A new source usually cannot be approved before award, so an unapproved small business is unlikely to win this buy.
DLA Aviation Philadelphia will not delay award while source approval is pending.
- No manufacturing data available to the Government. The Government does not have the data needed to make the part, so you would likely need your own data or approved-source status.
The Government does not possess the data necessary to perform the required manufacture of the item.
