The Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, NY is running an open, two-step Advanced Research Announcement (ARA) for cyber targeting research. It wants innovative research on analyzing adversary systems of systems, and total funding is about $999.9M with individual awards usually up to 60 months. The announcement is open until 8 December 2030.
Watch out for
- Two-step process. You must first win an invitation with a white paper before you can submit a full proposal, which adds time and effort.
Only white papers will be accepted as initial submissions; formal proposals will be accepted by invitation only.
- Full details are in an attachment. The announcement text says to see the attachment for full details, so white paper format and evaluation criteria are not visible here.
SEE ATTACHMENT FOR FULL ANNOUNCEMENT DETAILS.
- Large, cyber-focused research effort. Awards can reach tens or hundreds of millions of dollars and involve operationally realistic testing for cyber missions, which may favor experienced R&D performers.
- No guarantee of award. The Air Force can award zero, one or more contracts or OTs, so spending time on a white paper may not lead to an award.
the Air Force reserves the right to award zero, one, or more Procurement Contracts or Other Transactions
