AI summary Beta
The Bureau of Reclamation plans a sealed-bid (IFB) firm-fixed-price construction contract at Folsom Dam in California to remove part of the existing barrier and install a new vessel exclusion barrier and debris curtain. The text says it will be a Total Small Business set-aside, with an estimated cost of $5 to $10 million and 100% performance and payment bonds.
Watch out for
- Full performance and payment bonds. A bond for 100% of the contract on a $5-10 million job can be hard for a small business to secure.
This procurement will require 100% performance and payment bonds.
- Design plus in-water construction. The contractor must both design and install barrier components and anchors at a dam, which needs specialized marine construction capability.
Design, furnish and install a new vessel exclusion barrier and debris curtain and its components listed on this specification.
- Set-aside field conflicts with text. The structured set-aside field says none, but the description says Total Small Business set aside; confirm in the solicitation.
