GSA's Public Buildings Service wants a contractor to build the Gate 7 Parking Garage at the St. Elizabeths West Campus in Southeast Washington, DC, for DHS use. GSA plans a single firm-fixed-price construction contract using a two-phase approach. The estimated cost is $120 million to $160 million.
Watch out for
- Very large project. A $120M-$160M build with bonding requirements is a heavy lift for most small businesses without a larger partner.
The estimated cost range for construction is between $120,000,000.00 and $160,000,000.00.
- Funds not yet available. Award depends on appropriated funds, so the project could be delayed or not awarded.
Funds are not presently available for this contract.
- Bonding required. A bid bond and payment and performance bonds can be hard to get at this contract size.
A bid bond is required in Phase 2
- High-security, historic campus. Work happens on an active secure campus, so access, security checks and historic protections can slow work and add cost.
