The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), NAS Patuxent River, MD, awarded Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGSC), San Diego, CA, a sole source Delivery order N0001927F1026 under BOA N0001925G0003 in the amount of $66,041,453 on 5 October 2026. in support of the MQ-4C program. The delivery order is for the procurement of recurring engineering retrofit effort to incorporate multiple Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) into fielded aircraft in support of the United States Navy (USN) and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This acquisition was pursued on a sole-source basis under statutory authority of under Title 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.103-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements per Class Justification & Approval (CJ&A) 25-0131 – redacted version attached to this announcement. As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the MQ-4C Triton UAS, NGSC is the only known responsible source possessing the engineering data; technical skills; and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, and operational characteristics of the MQ-4C UAS required to perform the necessary follow-on production efforts within the required timeframes and without substantial duplication of cost and unacceptable delay.
