The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District is seeking one fully crewed hopper dredge (a self-propelled ship that sucks up and carries river sediment) for work on the Mississippi River and Southwest Pass. The notice puts the project size between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. No set-aside is used.
Watch out for

The work consists of furnishing one fully crewed and equipped self-propelled trailing suction type hopper dredge.
- Large contract size. A $10 million to $25 million range means big bonding and insurance needs are likely, though the text does not list them.
The magnitude of construction range for this Dredge project is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00.
- Bid date not fixed. The bid opening date is not set, and the SAM deadline field may not be the real date.
A bid opening date will be established in a future amendment.
- Work area may extend. Work may take place outside the named river areas and the New Orleans District, which could add travel or cost.
