The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Japan District plans maintenance dredging of the U.S. exclusive-use area at Yokohama North Dock, Japan (Berths 1-7 and A-L). Only firms based in Japan with a Japanese civil construction license can take part. Companies will first be prequalified, then prequalified firms will get a sealed-bid solicitation (IFB). Estimated size is 1 to 2.5 billion yen.
Watch out for
- Local Japanese sources only. A U.S. small business without a physical presence and Japanese construction license in Japan cannot qualify.
This contract will be performed in its entirety in the country of Japan and is intended only for local sources.
- Failing the license check removes you. The Government checks the license on the MLIT website, and a missing or inaccurate listing makes you ineligible to prequalify.
Failure to comply with this requirement will cause your company to be ineligible to be prequalified for this acquisition.
- Large project priced in yen. The value range is in Japanese yen, so exchange rates and local labor and marine rules apply.
Project Magnitude: Between ¥1,000,000,000 and ¥2,500,000,000 (Japanese YEN)
