The Navy (NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, Mechanicsburg) wants a firm-fixed-price repair of a refrigeration compressor unit. It is described as a sole-source repair under the Advanced Equipment Repair Program, and the requested repair turn-around time is 183 days. Proposals are due October 29, 2026.
Watch out for
- Sole-source repair requirement. The notice calls this a sole-source repair, so a small business without OEM authorization is unlikely to be able to compete.
This is an Advanced Equipment Repair Program (AERP) sole source repair requirement.
- Classified access needed. Handling classified documents requires a facility and personnel security setup that many small businesses do not have.
Structure borne noise testing when filled in is Confidential.
- Technical data held in Navy ECDS system. Contract support documents must be obtained from the Navy's ECDS site, and key drawings and repair instructions are not in the notice.
- Long list of clauses, including subcontracting plan. The clause list includes a small business subcontracting plan clause, which could apply to larger awards.
