AI summary Beta
The Air Force is running a Sources Sought (market research) for a 10-year Joint Simulation Environment IDIQ contract. The work covers developing and testing modeling and simulation capabilities and running product support at test and training sites, starting at Nellis AFB, NV. The responses will decide whether the later solicitation is unrestricted or a small business set-aside.
Watch out for
- Classified work environment. Sites run Secret, TS/SCI and SAP networks, so a small business without cleared staff and facilities may struggle.
Secure networks supporting Secret/Collateral, TS/SCI, and SAP information
- Large, complex 10-year scope. Integrating other contractors' training systems across several sites is a big effort that may exceed a small business's capacity alone.
Multiple training systems (JSE-compliant and non-JSE-compliant) developed by other airborne platform program offices and their Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
- Transition from an incumbent. The first task order includes a transition period with the current contractor, so you must be ready to take over an existing operation.
including up to a 6-month transition period with the incumbent contractor
- Not yet a solicitation. This only gathers information; the set-aside decision is not made, so small business status may or may not matter.
