SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (run by Stanford for the Department of Energy) wants proposals for a BL18 In-Vacuum Undulator, a specialized accelerator device, from a U.S. domestic end item source. The requested delivery is 19 months after award, and proposals are due October 30, 2026 at 5 PM Pacific. Most details are in the attached RFP.
Watch out for
- Specialized scientific equipment. This is a custom accelerator component with a 19-month delivery, so only firms with undulator or similar vacuum-device experience are likely to qualify.
- Not a standard federal procurement. Federal contracting rules do not directly apply, and terms follow the lab's own RFP and purchasing system.
subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements
- Multiple amendments. Three amendments changed the delivery date, due date and technical answers, and a signed amendment must come back with the proposal.
