AI summary Beta
NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (Navy) plans to buy 37 aircraft fuel tanks (NSN 1R-1560-011677486-VH), delivered FOB origin. The Navy intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, and the item needs Government source approval because it is flight critical. Other firms may still submit capability statements or proposals.
Watch out for
- Sole-source intent. The Navy plans to negotiate with one source, so a new bidder has a low chance unless it is already approved.
the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1
- Source approval required and not waited for. A new source takes time to approve and award will not be delayed for it.
The time required for approval of a new source is normally such that an award cannot be delayed pending approval of a new source.
- Questionable data rights. The Government is unsure it can share the technical data with other bidders, which limits competition.
The Government's right to use data in its possession is questionable.
