The Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC plans a cost-plus-fixed-fee term contract for research in optoelectronics, power electronics and radiation effects. It runs one 12-month base year plus four 12-month options (five years), with a possible 6-month extension. This is a follow-on to a current contract held by Amentum.
Watch out for
- Incumbent follow-on. A large incumbent already performs this work, which can make it harder for a new small business to win.
This is a follow-on requirement, currently supported by Amentum under N00173-23-C-2004.
- Cost-type contract. A cost-plus contract needs an approved accounting system and cost proposals, which many small businesses do not have.
anticipates awarding a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) Term contract
- Funding not assured. Award depends on funds, and the Government can cancel the requirement.
The Government reserves the right to cancel this requirement.
