DLA Land and Maritime wants to buy 827 storage batteries (NSN 6140-01-658-8866) for delivery to Columbus, OH, within 199 days. It is a 100% small business set-aside, but the notice names an approved source and the full solicitation is not out yet.
Watch out for
- Approved source listed. The notice lists one approved source and part number, so a different supplier may need to show its product is acceptable; the notice does not explain the process.
PERSISTENT SYSTEMS LLC (4YBU2)
- Military-only item, drawings not yet available. Specifications and drawings are only released after the solicitation is published, so you cannot judge the work yet.
The drawings, specifications, and relevant technical data are posted to cFolders once the solicitation is published.
- Response date before solicitation release. The response deadline is 10/21 but the solicitation is expected on or about 10/22, so the date in the notice appears to be for expressing interest in a commercial alternative.
