VA's Network Contracting Office 15 plans to solicit reference lab testing (clinical and anatomical pathology) for VA medical centers in VISN 15, across Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Indiana. This is a presolicitation notice; the solicitation is expected around October 14, 2026.
Watch out for
- Multiple locations. One task order per site across several states means a bidder needs courier and lab capacity covering the whole region.
One Task Order will be issued for each location.
- Full liability on contractor. The contractor takes on all liability risk, which can mean higher insurance and cost.
The contractor must assume total liability for all contractor employees.
- Sites may be added. Added locations come through bilateral modification, so scope and volume can grow.
VA reorganization may necessitate adding additional locations to this contract in the future.
