AI summary Beta
NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (Navy) plans to buy 9 data interface units (NSN 7H-7025-015530504-VN) from a single source, to be delivered to DLA Distribution sites in New Cumberland, PA and Tracy, CA. The notice is flagged as a total small business set-aside. The Government says it does not own the data needed to buy or repair the part from other sources.
Watch out for
- Government intends to buy from one source. Unless responses convince the Government to compete the buy, the award goes to a single chosen source, so a new bidder needs to show it can meet the requirement.
intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1
- Government does not own the technical data. Without the data rights, other companies cannot easily make or repair this part, so only the data owner is likely able to supply it.
The Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to purchase / contract repair of this part from additional sources.
- Qualification requirement. The offeror, product or manufacturer must already be qualified at award, which a new supplier may not be.
