The U.S. Forest Service Incident Procurement Aviation Branch has posted a Request for Information (market research only) about helicopter support services for hoist and medical services for wildland fire work. It is not a solicitation, and no funds are committed. Responses are due by email by November 21, 2026.

Watch out for

  • RFI only, not a solicitation. There is no contract to bid on yet; responding does not guarantee a future award and no costs are reimbursed. The Government will not reimburse any costs incurred in responding to this RFI
  • Aviation specialization. Helicopter hoist and medical services likely need specialized aircraft and crews, which is hard for a new small business.
