AI summary Beta
The Navy (NUWC Division Newport) plans to award a sole-source, single-award IDIQ contract to SAAB Inc. for MK 66 Mod 0 Heavyweight Undersea Training Targets, engineering services and support equipment kits. It follows an earlier Other Transaction Authority (OTA) prototype agreement, and the ordering period is expected to run 60 months from award. This is not open to competition.
Watch out for
- Sole-source follow-on to SAAB Inc.. The Navy is not competing this work, so a small business can only take part as a subcontractor or supplier to SAAB.
This requirement is a sole source follow-on production contract to an Other Transaction Authority (OTA)
- Prior work was an OTA prototype award. The follow-on rights come from a competitive consortium award, so the way in would have been the earlier consortium competition.
The agreement N666041890001/N666042493202 was competitively awarded through the Undersea Technology Innovation Consortium (UTIC) 23-01-003.
